KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Five juveniles were injured, one critically, in a single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.

Police responded shortly before 4:30 p.m. to the area of 79th Street and Oldham Road, where a white Hyundai was overturned in the road.

According to KCPD, the vehicle was traveling north on Oldham Road “at a high rate of speed” when it lost control, left the road on the right and struck a large wooden utility pole.

It ricocheted back into the road, coming to a rest on its roof.

A 15-year-old boy in the front passenger seat received critical injuries.

The 17-year-old female driver suffered serious injuries as did an 11-year-old passenger in the rear, while two other 15-year-old boys in the rear received moderate injuries, according to KCPD.

All five juveniles were transported to the hospital for treatment.
