KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Only one adoptable dog remained at the Wayside Waifs shelter Saturday after the nonprofit’s “Adoptathon” event.

Wayside Waifs shared a photo of a 2-year-old mixed breed named Kenny on Facebook, writing “And then there was 1.”

The shelter said Kenny is “a fantastic guy who met some great families but not his forever family.”

Wayside Waifs said a total of 203 pets found their forever homes during the event.

Sunday, the shelter posted another photo of Kenny, this time posing with a special visitor, Scott Poore.

Poore is the founder of Mission Driven, and in addition to volunteering at shelters more than 50 hours each week, “creates and promotes fundraisers to help shelters meet their needs,” according to Mission Driven’s website.

Poore brought Kenny treats, a “go-home” collar, a Seresto collar and some Nylabones.
