KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police in two Johnson County cities were investigating after a series of break-ins at businesses overnight.

Mission police said two businesses in the 5800 block of Johnson Drive and one business in the 6900 block of Johnson Drive were broken into early Monday morning.

An attempted break-in was also reported at a business in the 5100 block of Johnson Drive. No merchandise was stolen from any of the businesses.

Mission police said the suspect or suspects entered the businesses by using a tool or hammer to break the front glass doors.

In Overland Park, a tattoo shop at West 83rd Street and Metcalf Avenue was broken into, and an attempted break-in was reported at a liquor store next door, police said.

A business at West 103rd and Mastin streets was also entered, and an attempted break-in was reported at a pawn shop at West 87th and Grant streets.

The owner of T&C Liquors at West 103rd and Mastin streets told 41 Action News that it did not appear anything was taken from the business. He said damage was contained to the front door, which he estimated would cost around $1,000 to fix.

Police are looking for a blue Ford F-150 in connection to the break-ins.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
