UPDATE: JULY 18, 8:30 A.M. | Police say traffic cameras show Ms. Beam walking southbound in the 13700 block of Metcalf around midnight. Officers continue searching for her.
EARLIER | Overland Park police are asking for the public's help to find a missing 86-year-old woman.
Mary Eleanor Beam was last seen about 12:30 p.m. on Friday at Tall Grass Creek Senior Living Community, 13810 Metcalf Ave., police said.
Police said she often goes for walks from West 135th Street to West 143rd Street along Metcalf Avenue.
Beam is about 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds with shoulder-length gray hair.
Police said she does not have access to a vehicle and was last seen wearing dark sunglasses, a white blouse and pants of an unknown color.
Beam also has dementia and heart disease.
