OLATHE, Kan. — The Overland Park Police Department issued a plea for help in locating a woman who hasn’t been in contact with her family for several weeks Monday afternoon.

Police said she was "safely found this evening and is being reunited with family" in a release shorty before 8:15 p.m.

The Kansas Bureau of Investigation had issued a statewide Silver Alert for 67-year-old Lisa Mertz shortly after 2 p.m.

Her family last spoke with her in late July and reported her missing Friday to Overland Park police.

Her car had been spotted two weekends ago near East 39th Street and Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
