KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Overland Park Police Department set up a perimeter and called in a K-9 unit to search for an alleged burglary suspect near West 87th and Grant streets Sunday morning.
A resident reported a suspect entered their apartment near West 87th and Grant street shortly before 10 a.m.
The suspect then fled the scene eastbound towards Antioch.
Police were called and set up a perimeter.
A police dog and handler also began searching the area for a black male in his 20s with dreadlocks wearing a tan Carhartt jacket.
Shortly after10 a.m., police said they positively identified the suspect, and it was learned the suspect and victim knew each other.
The perimeter was taken down, as there was no threat to the general public.
The investigation is still ongoing, and no injuries were reported.
