Overnight shooting leaves 1 dead in Raytown

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman is dead after an overnight shooting in Raytown, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers, along with officers from the Raytown Police Department, responded to a reported shooting around 2 a.m. in the 6800 block of Raytown Road.

When officers got there they found a woman dead from a gunshot wound. The suspect, who was still at the scene, was taken into custody.

The victim was identified as 38-year-old Kiera Cline of Grandview, Missouri. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is handling the investigation.
