KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A semi hauling 12 tons of lye overturned Thursday morning near the Grandview Triangle, causing traffic delays.
The Missouri Department of Transportation said the semi overturned just before 9 a.m. on the westbound lanes of Interstate 435 and 103rd Street in Kansas City, Missouri.
MoDOT said the wreck, which occurred in a construction zone, will take several hours to clean-up.
At 11 a.m., MoDOT will close the ramps from southbound 71 Highway and southbound I-435 to westbound 435 to help in the clean-up.
