SHAWNEE, Kan. — Johnson Drive will be down to one lane at Widmer Road for about a week starting Monday, November Nov. 4.
This is due to stormwater upgrades in the area.
The city will have temporary traffic signals, so drivers need to be prepared to stop and wait until their turn to move past the construction zone.
People who live in the area are preparing for the road closure.
"I think it will add to a lot of people's time who are traveling up and down Johnson Drive," Staci Reuter said. "We live in a neighborhood that will be completely closed so we have to take a back way out."
The city of Shawnee urges people to avoid the area if possible.
