KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A woman died two days after being struck by a delivery truck Wednesday near 55th Street and Troost Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.

A KCPD spokesman said the driver of the delivery truck, which is owned by FedEx, was westbound on 55th Street, entered the intersection under a green traffic light signal, and began a left turn onto Troost Avenue.

The 66-year-old woman — identified Friday night as Kathleen K. Tripp of Kansas City, Missouri — was crossing Troost when she was struck by the truck. Tripp died Friday at an area hospital from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver remained at the scene and police do not believe impairment or distracted driving was a factor in the crash.

The case will be submitted to the Jackson County Prosecutor's Office for review after the investigation is complete.
