UPDATE, April 1 | Kansas City, Missouri, police were notified Saturday, April 1, the pedestrian struck on March 23 at North Walrond Avenue and Maplewoods Parkway died of his injuries on Friday, March 31.
Police report the hit-and-run remains under investigation.
The driver and vehicle have yet to be identified.
This incident is the 16th fatality crash of the year. At this time last year, there had been 29 traffic fatalities.
ORIGINAL STORY | One person was critically injured in a hit-and-run Thursday afternoon in the Northland.
The crash happened near N Walrond Ave and Maplewoods Parkway at 3:20 p.m.
Officers responded to the scene and located the victim. They were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The vehicle that hit the victim left he scene in an unknown direction.
