KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Olathe Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident near Old 56 Highway and Chestnut Street.
Police were called to the area shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Officers located 36-year-old Aureliano Gonzalez-Sanchez with critical injuries.
He was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with police.
Old 56 Highway was closed as police worked the scene.
