KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian — identified Wednesday as 36-year-old James E. Pettijohn — died after a hit-and-run crash Tuesday night in Gladstone, Missouri.
Police said the incident happened about 8 p.m. at Northeast 77th Street and North Oak Trafficway.
Authorities were looking for a white fulll-size Dodge pickup truck in connection with the hit-and-run.
Gladstone police announced Thursday that 43-year-old Michael Myers, of Kansas City, Missouri, was charged in Clay County with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in Pettijohn's death.
Myers also struck a woman with the pickup truck, according to court documents. Myers and the woman had a relationship that ended, the documents said.
