KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Independence police say a pedestrian was killed in a crash overnight.
The crash happened at about 2:45 a.m. on eastbound Missouri 78 Highway, west of Missouri 7 Highway.
A pedestrian walking in the road was struck by a 2018 Ford Fusion.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators, per police.
Police said the pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where they later died.
The victim's identify is being withheld until their family is notified.
