KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police said a man was killed as he was walking across the northbound lanes of traffic near 57th Street and Swope Parkway Monday night.
Around 8:30 p.m. KCPD officers were called to the area for a deadly collision involving a pedestrian.
Police said the vehicle that hit the man left the scene.
Witnesses described the vehicle as a dark SUV or crossover.
The vehicle had reportedly been traveling at high speeds when the collision occurred and was last seen going northbound.
KCPD said the victim was a 45-year-old Kansas City, Missouri, man.
