KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle at around 8:13 p.m. Saturday night on Interstate 435 near State Line Road in Leawood, Kansas.
There is currently no word on why the pedestrian was crossing the busy highway.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says one vehicle avoided the pedestrian, but a second vehicle, an F150 pickup truck, struck the pedestrian.
The pedestrian was identified as Reginae Chatmon, 27.
Traffic was getting off Interstate 435 at State Line Road, but a traffic jam could be seen on a KC Scout system camera just east of State Line Road.
The Kansas Highway Patrol will investigate the crash.
