Pedestrian struck by car, seriously injured in KCMO late Wednesday

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was seriously injured after he was struck by a vehicle late Wednesday in Kansas City, Missouri, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. to Independence and Indiana avenues. A Lincoln MKS was traveling westbound on Independence when a pedestrian attempted to cross the roadway and was struck by the vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries, police said.
