KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a train Sunday afternoon in Kansas City, Missouri.
The incident happened shortly before 4 p.m. in the area of East 12th Street and Elmwood Avenue, according to KCPD.
The train stopped after striking the unidentified individual, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Emergency crews responded to the area of East 11th Street and Van Brunt Boulevard to reach the elevated train tracks, where the incident occurred.
