KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One man is fighting for his life after being struck by a car near Independence Avenue and south Oakley Avenue.
According to the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department the incident happened around 11:37 a.m. on Sunday.
The man was hit by a Nissan Sentra that was traveling west on Independence Avenue.
Due to ongoing construction in the area, the driver did not see the man as he was crossing the road, causing the driver to hit the man.
The person was transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.
