KANSAS CITY, Mo. — One person was ejected from a vehicle during a police pursuit involving the Belton and Peculiar police departments.
According to Belton police, officers located a stolen pickup truck around 3 a.m. in the area of Interstate 49 and 163rd Street.
The driver of the truck refused to stop and officers initiated pursuit southbound on I-49, toward Peculiar.
Belton police said that Peculiar police deployed a tire deflation device near 203rd Street.
The driver lost control of the truck and left the roadway.
The truck rolled over and a 25-year-old woman was ejected from the vehicle. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
A 37-year-old man was taken into custody and is being treated at the hospital for less serious injuries.
The identities of the two have not been released at this time.
