Pettis County Deputy shoots, kills Sedalia woman during traffic stop

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Pettis County Deputy shot and killed a Sedalia woman after a traffic stop Saturday night.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says the deputy initiated a traffic stop at U.S. 50 Highway and Winchester Drive about 10:00 p.m.

A white female reportedly refused to identify herself and a confrontation ensued.

The woman told the deputy she was armed and going to shoot him.

At some point, the deputy shot and killed the woman, according to authorities.

The deputy was not injured.

The woman has been identified as Hannah R. Fizer, 25, of Sedalia.

The investigation is ongoing.
