KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A Kansas City, Missouri, man was sentenced to 14 years in prison Thursday for the armed robbery of a restaurant with an illegal firearm.

Teandre L. Wilson, 40, pleaded guilty April 9 to robbing a Pizza Hut in the 9500 block of Blue Ridge Boulevard at gunpoint in August 2018.

Wilson showed a gun tucked into his waistband to a cashier at the restaurant and told the employee, “Give me you money or I’ll pop ya.”

Wilson was arrested several weeks later when KCPD officers responded to a shots fired call in the area of East Sixth Street and Benton Boulevard.

A caller said he heard gunshots and saw Wilson hiding behind a car. He was arrested at a nearby convenience store with a loaded Springfield Armory .45-caliber pistol in his waistband.

Wilson, who had prior convictions for possession and distribution of a controlled substance and for robbery, isn’t allowed to possess any guns or ammunition under federal law.
