KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Lee’s Summit police said a man shot his aunt and then shot and killed himself on Wednesday afternoon.
A Lee's Summit police spokesperson said officers were called around 4:30 p.m. to a residence in the 100 block of Southeast Summit Avenue.
A 28-year-old Lee's Summit man, who police identified Friday, was found dead in the front yard of a residence. A woman at the residence, who police identified as the man's aunt, also had been shot.
Her injuries were considered not life-threatening, but LSPD had no update Friday on her condition.
Police said it's believed the man shot his aunt and then took his own life.
