KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City, Missouri, police are involved in a standoff at an apartment complex near U.S. 40 and Northern Boulevard.
According to police, officers were called to a disturbance at the complex at 5:08 a.m.
Officers arrived to find a woman armed with a knife who threatened anyone who came into her apartment.
Police said the woman slammed the door on the officers and a standoff was initiated at 6:10 a.m.
The standoff ended around 9:30 a.m. and the suspect was taken to a hospital for psychiatric care.
