KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Police officers responding to a recent call for service in Blue Springs, Missouri thought the call would be for drug possession.

After making an arrest, it was what else the suspect possessed that was cause for concern.

In Oct. 2018, police arrived in the parking lot of the Welcome Inn Extended Stay on NW Jefferson Street on the call.

Originally, they took Crystal Corrie, 20, into custody for possession of marijuana, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

While processing the car Corrie was in, officers discovered more than two dozen credit card numbers, names, CCV numbers, expiration dates and addresses inside notebooks in the car.

Police attempted to reach 29 of the victims they found information for, and 16 people – mostly from outside the Kansas City area – said they wanted to help in the prosecution.

On Monday, the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office charged Corrie with one count of trafficking stolen identities and possession of a controlled substance.
