UPDATE: SATURDAY JUNE 23, 12:00. - Police have identified the victim as Justin Powell, 31, of Kansas City.
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A man was shot and killed in the 3100 block of Linwood just before 1:00 Saturday morning.
Police officers on nearby patrol in the area near 31st & Linwood heard the sound of shots fired.
Officers then located on black male, dead near a home in that block.
The approximate age, or id of the victim has not yet been released.
No suspect information has been given, and an investigation is underway.
