UPDATE 3/5/2017 10:10 P.M.: The police standoff on Locust has ended after the suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody.
ORIGINAL STORY 3/4/2017:
Police are in a standoff with an assault suspect at an apartment complex in the 9900 block of Locust.
Officers were called to the area around 8 p.m. Saturday on the report of a woman screaming in the street.
When they arrived, the woman told them she was assaulted and threatened with a gun by the suspect while in his apartment.
The woman was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The man is refusing to exit the apartment and negotiators are en route to the scene.
No further details were immediately available.
