UPDATE: June 13 10:40 a.m.: Police say about10:35 officers made contact with the man and he surrendered peacefully. The investigation is ongoing.
Police are in a standoff with a man threatening to harm himself in a building in the West Bottoms after a reported armed robbery.
Officers were called to the scene in the 600 block of Grand about 3:45 Saturday morning on an armed robbery.
A man says he and his girlfriend were held against their will in the 500 block of Madison. the man was able to escape, but the woman was still inside being held against her will.
When officers arrived, the woman ran out of the location and was safe.
The woman reported the man who is armed is still inside the building.
Negotiators are working to contact the man and get him to come out safely.
No injuries have been reported.
