Kansas City police are investigating after a 12-year-old boy was shot in the leg Thursday night.
Police said at 6 p.m., officers were called to a residence near 35th and Wayne in regard to a shooting. When officers arrived, they found a 12-year-old boy on the porch suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
The boy was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.
According to police, witnesses said he was on the porch when he was shot. Detectives are interviewing witnesses to determine if the shots came from in the house, on the porch or elsewhere.
