1 killed in KCMO shooting; man being questioned by police

A man is being questioned in connection with a deadly shooting in the 2100 block of Linwood Boulevard.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — - UPDATE, 4/9 | Police have identified the victim as Dwayne Thomas, 50, of Kansas City, Mo. The case remains under investigation.

EARLIER, 4/6 |  KC police are questioning a man in connection with a deadly shooting. 

At 4 a.m., officers were called to the 2100 block of Linwood Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found a shooting victim inside a vacant building. He was pronounced dead a short time later. 

Kansas City police told 41 Action News the shooter has been located. 

According to KCPD, the shooter called 911 to report the shooting. He told police he was renovating the vacant building Friday morning. He said he saw an intruder and shot the man. 

KCPD are formally questioning the shooter.
