UPDATE: Worker identified in KCK railroad death

UPDATE  9/30,|  Police have released the name of the victim from Tuesday's industrial accident. 

Officers say the victim has been identified as Troy Jordan, 49, of Shawnee, Kansas. 

Police say the victim's family has been notified and the case is still under investigation.

ORIGINAL STORY| 

Police are investigating what they are calling an industrial accident after a person was struck and killed by a train in Kansas City, Kansas.

According to police, officers responded to check on a person trapped under a rail car in the 2400 block of Bayard Avenue. Upon arrival, officers determined the deceased victim had been struck by a rail car and then drug underneath. 

According to police, the victim was a male in his 40s. The victim’s identity has not been released at this time; however, authorities say he was an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad.
