Police are investigating after a high speed chase throughout the metro Thursday afternoon.

Police say they received two 911 calls around noon saying a woman was force into a car by two men.

Once police caught up to the black Kia Rio, they say they saw the woman sticking her head outside the window.

"At one point during, in the beginning of the pursuit she was sticking her head out the window, we thought she might be in need of assistance so we initiated pursuit," said Captain Greg Williams with the Kansas City Police Department.

On Friday, officers said it appears that the woman was not kidnapped.

The chase first started on Kansas City's east side, the man then drove into Kansas along westbound on Interstate 70. The chase ended at a fire station in the Crossroads after police laid down spike strips.

David Gant, who works off of 18th Street in the Crossroads, saw the chase unfold. He took cellphone video after the car flew through his neighborhood twice.

"Cause you're obviously worried about people getting hurt it's exciting, the sound of a million cop cars with their sirens blasting," he said.
