Cortez Doyle is heartbroken after what happened to his daughter Monday evening. "She was crossing with her kids and somebody came across the... I guess they ran the light and hit three of my grandkids and dragged one of them," he said.

Four-year-old Kanory Hill was seriously hurt. "Man I'm, I'm hurt. I'm hurt. I'm really hurt man," Doyle added.

Maurice Walker was on the bus stop when it happened. Police say the family was walking across 31st Street when a car turned north on Prospect Avenue, hitting them. Walker said, "I saw the kid come up from up under the car." Adding the mom was hysterical. "She was screaming. She was screaming, 'Help, somebody help!'"

That's when a little hope showed up. Assunta Johnson, a certified medical assistant at Hope Family Medical Center, came running outside. "I didn't stop, think. I didn't care. It was somebody that was hurt and they needed me," she said. "They brought a little boy to me and he was bleeding from his head. I told him to grasp my fingers, he was responding to me okay. I made sure that he didn't have any internal injuries."

As of Monday evening, Hill was listed in serious condition at Children's Mercy Hospital.

KCPD is looking for a light gray Chevy Impala with temporary tags.
