KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Investigators are looking into what could have caused a possible explosion at a vacant duplex in Kansas City, Kansas.

KCK firefighters were called to the scene near 55th and Everett early Monday morning.

Several neighbors reported hearing what they believed was an explosion around midnight.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the flames by 1:30 a.m., but were called back to the scene about an hour and a half later when the fire started again.

KCKFD said nobody was injured, and there have not been any major water issues related to the incident.

Though the cause remains under investigation, fire crews did say it could have been a natural gas explosion.
