KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Union Station is about to be taken over by 150 very young scientists-in-training!

Preschoolers from United Inner City Services and Growing Futures Early Education Center will join more than 100 volunteers from PNC Bank to make science fun and help the young ones, “Grow Up Great!”

Christy Nitsche of Union Station showed us some of what the children will be doing, including hands-on experiments about something all around us: air.

Bubbles, balloons, and butterflies will all be integral parts of the fun.

There’s also a “Maker’s Room” that will be turning out tricycles and wagons, which will then be donated to each learning center.

In addition to the fun, there’s also news about funds.

PNC Bank’s Kim Herman said at 10 a.m., an announcement will be made which will extend the fun of learning science through the year and across the community.

There’s always something terrific happening at Union Station and on Wednesday, it will involve science, kids, volunteers, money and, oh yeah, Elmo! (The big red wonder will be there, too!)
