KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Perhaps the best kept (and best tasting) secret on the Country Club Plaza, the Presentation Room is a place for future chefs to master their craft in a real dining setting.

The experience-driven "final exam" for L'École Culinaire students is tucked away inside the J.C. Nichols building on Ward Parkway, just across the hall from the school's kitchen labs.

According to Chrystal Tatum, Program Director at L'Ecole Culinaire, this restaurant gives students a chance to experience the real world of dining. They create the dishes, oversee the ordering and prep, as well as work the front of the room with seating and service.

As August winds down, they are introducing their fall menu. Things like funnel cake dessert, Mac & Cheese Madness and pulled pork tacos will be available through October 2.

This little slice of culinary heaven is open based on the students’ schedules. For the fall 2017 semester, that means lunch hours Mondays and Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

(Reservations are a good idea.)

At the end of the meal experience, the diners become professors and rate all aspects of your food adventure.
