KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Law enforcement agencies responded Friday to a shooting that involved a sheriff’s deputy and a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper.
KY3-TV in Springfield, Missouri, reported the deputy and trooper were serving an eviction notice in Carter County, Missouri, when the suspect allegedly opened fire.
According to the report, the deputy was struck three times and the trooper was struck twice. Both were taken by air ambulance from the scene. The extent of their injuries wasn’t immediately known.
Carter County is roughly 150 miles east of Springfield.
