KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Dozens of area residents gathered at Avila University Saturday for the fifth annual South Kansas City Economic Summit.

New development projects from Cerner and Burns and MCDonnell were to be discussed, along with the Red Bridge Shopping Center revitalization, and the planned replacement of the Bannister Federal Complex with a major industrial park.

Other big goals revive around good, high paying jobs, and permanent housing for residents.
