KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rick Brattin has won the Republican primary and will face incumbent U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver in the Nov. 3 general election.

Brattin emerged from the field Tuesday, defeating candidates Taylor Burks and Brad Patty, according to unofficial results.

Brattin will look to dethrone Cleaver, who has represented Missouri's 5th Congressional District since 2005.
