KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Rick Brattin has won the Republican primary and will face incumbent U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D) in the Nov. 3 general election.

Rick Brattin to challenge incumbent Emanuel Cleaver for Missouri 5th District

Brattin emerged from the field Tuesday, defeating candidates Taylor Burks and Brad Patty, according to unofficial results.

Brattin looks to dethrone Cleaver, who has represented Missouri's 5th Congressional District since 2005.
