KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Roads are wet Wednesday morning after a wintry mix of precipitation fell overnight and again in the early morning hours.

The National Weather Service said most surface and road temperatures have stayed above freezing, which will help limit impacts for drivers.

Still, a weather-related crash happened around 5:30 a.m. near Lake Lotawana.

41 Action News Reporter Charlie Keegan was in Stormtracker monitoring road conditions when he happened upon the scene.

Emergency crews said a car slid on westbound U.S. 50 on the bridge over Highway 7, hit the guardrail and then hit another car.

One lane was closed as crews worked the crash.

No injuries were reported.

The Missouri Department of Transportation routinely warns drivers that elevated surfaces such as bridges are the first parts of the road to freeze over. Elevated surfaces are also the first to warm when temperatures are above 32 degrees.
