BONNER SPRINGS, Kan. – A second teenager has died after a crash in Bonner Springs.

The single-car crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 21, in the area of 122nd and Kansas Avenue.

On Tuesday, 17-year-old Jay Jay Hill died from injuries he sustained in the wreck.

Family told 41 Action News that Hill suffered a severe brain injury and never regained consciousness after the wreck. Doctors at a Kansas City hospital told them it was an unrecoverable injury.

Five days earlier, on Oct. 26, 18-year-old Seth Davidson died from his injuries. Classmates honored him at a Friday night football game by wearing superhero attire and performing superhero-themed songs.

Bonner Springs police said in a news release that the investigation into this wreck and the circumstances surrounding it is ongoing.

When they arrived on the scene on Oct. 21, they saw one car crashed with four people inside. All of them were hurt, but the seriousness of the injuries varied.

They were all taken to area hospitals for treatment, and the other two people who were in the car have since been released.

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have witnessed the crash to call them at 913-422-7800.
