Shooting leads to crash in KCMO

Police are investigating after a shooting led to a crash that knocked over a power line pole on Tuesday morning.

According to Kansas City police, after 6 a.m., officers were dispatched on a shooting call in the area of Bannister and Blue Ridge. On their way to the call, officers were advised of a carjacking possibly in the area of 92nd and Marsh. 

Kansas City police said officers made contact with a man at Bannister and Blue Ridge who said he was shot. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police said a shooting and carjacking did occur in the area of 92nd and Marsh. 

Kansas City police said investigators are working through events to determine what happened Tuesday morning. 

Power lines fell onto nearby railroad tracks. Traffic lights are out in the area.
