Silver Alert issued for missing North KC man

UPDATE, 1:30PM | The Silver Alert has been canceled. McClain has been located.

EARLIER | KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert on Thursday for a missing North Kansas City man, who was last seen Wednesday night.

Police said Jack Spencer McClain, 80, was last seen walking away from his home at 2316 Erie St. around 8 p.m. on Wednesday.

His cell phone pinged a few minutes later near 500 E. 26th Avenue in North Kansas City, but police have been unable to locate him.

McClain is a white male, 5-feet-8 and 165 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing a gray sweatshirt.

Police said he has dementia and trouble walking.
