KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Smithville School Board of Education passed a universal mask mandate for the upcoming school year at a meeting Thursday night.
The mandate applies to all students and staff while indoors and begins Aug. 16.
At the meeting, the board only passed a mask mandate on Thursday night.
They will discuss other COVID-19 mitigation measures, like quarantine guidelines, at a later time.
