KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- The smoking suitcase of a passenger headed to KCI caused delays over the holiday weekend, the TSA said Thursday.
The smoke was coming from the suitcase at Boston Logan International Airport on Saturday. The agency said out of an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated so authorities could investigation.
Investigators say a lithium battery in an e-cigarette ignited, causing the smoke.

Agents contacted the passenger who owned the suitcase. His flight was delayed until authorities deemed the situation safe.
The TSA says the passenger was ticketed to fly to Kansas City International Airport.
