It'll be a dog's life in Leavenworth this weekend: an auction of one of the country's largest Snoopy collections.

"It's been an honor for me to sell a collection of this magnitude," said auctioneer Bruce Murphy.

The auction at the CW Parker Carousel Museum in Leavenworth will sell off nearly 2,000 Snoopys, all of them from the collection of one Leavenworth woman.

"She's known as Miss Snoopy in Leavenworth, Kansas," said Murphy of Pauline Graeber.

She found the Snoopys over the years at flea markets, antique shows, and repeated trips to a Snoopy convention in California.

"It's a very difficult thing that she needs to get rid of, but the time comes in life when you've got to downsize a little bit," said her husband Clyde Graeber.

Miss Snoopy won't be here to see her dogs off; she's in the hospital battling an illness.

"It's been emotionally very draining, but she's facing it," said Clyde.

The public can preview the items 6 - 8 p.m. Friday at the CW Parker Carousel Museum in Leavenworth.

The auctions will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
