A Southwest Airlines flight that was supposed to offer service from Chicago to Albuquerque Thursday night was diverted by the flight crew to Kansas City International Airport after a passenger become unruly.

Airport police and a Southwest Airlines spokeswoman confirm the flight, Southwest 5296, was diverted to Kansas City due to the unruly passenger.

The passenger was described as possibly swearing and swinging their arms toward other passengers.

The plane landed without incident at KCI around 9:45 p.m.

A spokesperson from Southwest confirmed the flight will continue on it's destination to New Mexico later tonight.
