INDEPENDENCE, Mo. -- The driver of a stolen Jeep took police on a chase through Independence overnight, eventually hitting stop sticks and grinding their way into Lee's Summit.
Police made the arrest with no injuries, but not before a sparky display for onlookers as the chase rolled by near Chipman and 291 Highway.
The chase started at 23rd Street, then slowed considerably when the driver hit stop sticks at 39th Street.
Independence police ultimately described the incident as a "low-speed" pursuit.
Officials did not identify the driver or indicate any possible charges.
