KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Participants in the annual Special Olympics Missouri Polar Plunge braved the cold on Saturday to support 1,800 local athletes.

41 Action News anchor Kevin Holmes was on site, cheering on participants.

Last year, participants raised more than $300,000.

41 Action News is a sponsor of the event, which took place at Longview Lake in Jackson County, Missouri.
