St. Louis school reopens after parent's coronavirus test comes back negative

UPDATE, 8:45 a.m. | The parent has tested negative for COVID-19. Classes will resume today.

ORIGINAL STORY | A St. Louis school is closed today, as they await test results on a parent being tested for coronavirus.

Classes at New City School were canceled for Tuesday. The parent was tested for, but has not yet been diagnosed with COVID-19.

Members of the family were not at school on Monday, and are currently self-quarantined in their home.

The school also serves as a polling place and will be open for voting. Voting will occur in the dining hall, which officials said has been thoroughly cleaned.
